Turtle Crossing brought their mouth-watering barbecue fare to hungry East Enders in 1994. Several years later, they’re still one of the Hamptons’ favorite haunts, offering a broad menu that goes beyond traditional southwestern cooking. Turtle Crossing has been cited as serving the “Island’s Best BBQ” by The New York Times and they named among the “Ten Most Affordable Restaurants on Long Island.”
Accomplished chef Arthur Wolf executes the menu while owner Stanley Singer, a native Oklahoman, oversees. In addition to the ever-popular combo platters of slow-smoked ribs, chicken and pork, there’s inventive dishes that keep people coming back for more. Starters include chili seared shrimp with guacamole and roasted corn relish on a crispy tortilla; a basket of crispy artichokes accompanied by a smoked tomato sauce; jalapeno buttermilk hushpuppies; and don’t forget the luscious homemade corn bread. There are a half dozen imaginative wraps like the spicy shrimp wrap with rice, black beans, scallions, corn relish, guacamole, salsa & lime sour cream.
